These are rules everyone must follow. If you violate the rules more than an acceptable amount or misbehave your access can be removed from the ideas hub.

Safety First
PPE Required: Always wear safety glasses, hearing protection, and other required gear (gloves, steel-toe boots, dust masks, etc.).


No Loose Items: Secure long hair, remove dangling jewelry, and avoid loose clothing.


Tool Guards Stay On: Never remove or disable safety guards or devices.


Report Hazards: Immediately notify a supervisor of damaged tools or unsafe conditions.

Tool Use & Handling
Training Before Use: Only operate tools you’ve been trained and authorized to use.


Inspect Before Work: Check for damage, frayed cords, or missing parts before starting.


Correct Tool for the Job: Never improvise or force a tool beyond its design.


Hands Clear: Keep hands and body parts away from moving blades, bits, and belts.


Unplug/Lock Out: Disconnect power before changing blades, bits, or performing maintenance.

Workspace Etiquette
Keep Area Clean: Return tools to their proper place after use and sweep up debris.


Clear Floor: Keep cords, hoses, and scrap off walkways to prevent tripping.


No Horseplay: No running, throwing, or distracting others while tools are in use.


Mind the Zone: Give space to anyone operating a powered tool—don’t crowd them.

Personal Responsibility
Follow Instructions: Listen to supervisors and follow posted procedures.


No Unauthorized Modifications: Don’t alter tools, wiring, or safety systems.


Respect Others’ Work: Don’t handle another person’s project without permission.


End-of-Day Check: Clean your area, store tools, and ensure power is off
